Nemo's Been Found

Do you hear that screeching noise? That's my life slowing down and getting back to normal now that my two weeks at Disneyland are done.

It was a lot of work, but it all went very well and by the time we were done, we had put 60 television stations on the air live from Disneyland. And did I mention that the lines for the new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage were 3-5 hours long?

It was great to be back a part of my old Broadcast Services team, but I tell you, I really enjoyed having today to myself, catching up on sleep, e-mail and I even went to see Ocean's 13.

Anyway, here are some behind-the-scenes photos from the event. I never actually made it out on-stage to the remote locations.

The talented Nicole from WDW and me in the SCJ truck. Trial by fire is a great way to get to know how we do things at Disneyland. All I have to say is. . ."Tag! You're it next time!" and "If the moon was made of spareribs, would you eat it?"

Some of the 350 crew members on the broadcast team; the talented Beth, our nighttime technical director, Nick, our nighttime relief (I guess Shep was flying without a wingman Sunday and Monday night) and Nicole.

A shot of the monitor wall. There were 12 cameras and 10 paths to manage.

Rich, the video operator and Charlie the Videotape Op. Do you like the spagetti of patch cords behind them? Brian, the engineer from SJC, told me that if you really wanted to mess with the truck enigineer, you didn't need to pull all the patches. All you needed to do was move just one.

Some of the MANY broadcast trucks. These were the satellite dishes that downlinked our feeds. We also had CNBC, KTTV, KTLA and KABC there too!
