I actually got to go to dinner on Saturday. I met up with my good friend Lori who's working on the scheduling program that the Disneyland Special Events uses to coordinate all the elements that go into putting on a press event. I've known Lori for quite a while. We go WAAAAAY back. She's just a delightful lady and a great friend.
Also with us for dinner (actually, it was Lori and I that tagged along with them) were Kathrine and Charlie. Kathrine works in special events coordinating all of the interviews for the media on these big events, and Charlie works as an administrator for Disney. They both happened to be in Florida on separate business trips at the same time. The also happen to live about a 1/4 mile from me in So. Cal.
We ate dinner at Alfredo's in the Italy pavillion. Needless to say, like all the food at EPCOT, it was delicious. It was great to just sit down and talk about things other than work. Lori and I talked about our kids (she's got 4 boys!) and Kathrine and Charlie told us about the foreign exchange students from Italy that they've hosted over the years, and all about their trips to Italy.
Well, tomorrow the media arrives. Hopefully I've done my job well and all will go smoothly. I'd show you a picture of me hard at work, but a shot of me at my computer on the phone would be boring. Hopefully I'll be able to take some photos of the festivities over the next few days.
If you want to see what I've been working on, tune into the Daily Buzz on Fox in the morning on Thursday and Friday and check out Good Morning America on Thursday as well.
