En Garde!

Katie's been asking to take archery or fencing lessons for the last year. I kept dragging my feet since there wasn't a lot to choose from in our area. We tried to enroll her in archery but unfortunately, the place we picked closed just as we wanted to enroll her. Fast forward 6 months and we found a fencing studio about 12 miles from home. Take a look at her photos from her first group lesson. She practiced advancing, retreating and how to hold the foil. She also got a great history lesson on fencing from the instructor, Missag. Yes, I said Missag. (pronounced MEE-SAWG). Next week she'll actually get to hold the foil for more than the last 5 minutes of the lesson!
